Ovira's period cramp relief device is a TENS machine - that’s Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation if you want to get fancy. Our device works by applying a small electrical current through two compression pads (the Love Handles) that are placed over nerve roots that supply the sensory fibres to the uterus and/or lower back. Once in place, the stimulation prevents pain signals from travelling to the brain, causing the muscles in the uterine area to relax and resulting in a calming analgesic effect 😌
Our device can be used as much as you like - yay! Rest assured, the device has undergone thorough clinical testing to ensure it is completely safe to use for prolonged periods of time.
If you do feel discomfort or itchiness using our period cramp relief device, we suggest taking small breaks or placing the Love Handles in a different spot every few hours. Every single body is different, so see how you feel!
Our device is designed to provide relief across the lower abdomen and lower back.
A fully charged battery should last for a maximum of 12 hours on the lowest setting (there are 14 levels of intensity). If you choose a higher intensity, the battery won't last as long, but you should still get about 5 - 8 hours 🙌🏼

Sticky Gels may be reused until the stickiness is lost. We estimate that each set will last you approximately 8-10 uses when used, stored and cared for properly.

While some customers choose to sleep wearing our period cramp relief device, we cannot recommend it for regulatory reasons. Caution is advised due to the increased risk of electrical impulses (via the Love Handles) being applied to the neck, chest, thorax and/or face during sleep which can be dangerous.
